Who am I? I’m David Colden an accomplished technology leader and strategic problem solver with over 20 years’ experience and proven ability to successfully deliver world class products.
A passion for technology and product combined with creating a vision, identifying opportunities, and building successful teams by providing an environment that empowers people whilst encouraging innovation, autonomy and responsibility.
I have a player / coach philosophy and thrive on the opportunity to roll up my sleeves to work alongside people and teams to deliver innovative and quality software with a mission to delight customers.
I strongly believe in paying it forward and I contribute to the community spending time coaching leaders and startups to refine their product vision whilst offering pragmatic advice and guidance around leadership, technology, compliance and processes.
Why I started Defracto
I always felt priviledged to have been approached by some amazing people over the years asking if I could help bring their ideas to life or help them grow and scale their products. With each conversation every founder was after something a little different so it was not only exciting but also extremely challenging to help them realise their vision alongside my “day job”.
Then in late 2022 we decided it was time to return back to the UK after 14 amazing years in Australia, take a well earned career break, and spend some quality time with our family and friends.
During this time I was still being approached for help and advice and it was at this point I decided it was time to use the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years to focus on helping startups and scaleups on the exciting journey ahead.
